I've just seen the sad news of the death of British actor Richard Todd, probably best known for his role of Guy Gibson in the film "The Dambusters".
I used to visit his farm in Shiplake, Oxon many years ago, as I had nursed and become friendly with his farm manager's wife.
He had a beautiful herd of Guernsey cattle there, as well as pigs, and also the horse he rode in the film "Robin Hood" which he bought after filming and took home with him.
Apparently Richard died of cancer aged 90 years.
R.I.P. Richard.
Marian.

My favourite film of Richard Todd was called "The Hasty Heart"--which always made me cry !!! Very sad news.

I think the last time I saw him was on an outdoor tv special, could have been the 60th anniversary of V.E Day. He looked very well then, about 4 years ago.
