How sad. Dame Cleo Laine will be devastated.
What was the cause? As far as I know, he only just performed with his wife not too long ago.

I don't know what he actually died from Terence, but he died yesterday in King Edward V11 th Hospital in London, and had been ill for several months.

Very sad to hear this, but we knew that he hadn't been well for some time.
To think we were at Ronnie Scott's a few days ago, just one venue where Cleo and John were regular performers.
We saw them on the same bill with Frank Sinatra at the Royal Albert Hall in 1992.
R.I.P.

Dame Cleo announced the sad news to the audience before a concert at The Stables, their Buckinghamshire theatre RIP :(
