I don't know if anyone else know's, but the popular actor (Syd James look-a-like) Geoffrey Hutchings has passed away of a viral infection aged 71 .................a couple of years ago he did play Syd James (quite superbly) in a drama for BBC 3 or 4.......................he is laterly remembered for his role in the very funny ITV comedy series Benidorm ......................I think he will be sadly missed ................RIP

I did read this earlier, but have to admit that I did not know the name-and I have never watched Benidorm--but always sad to hear of someone going before their time-71 is no age these days.

We didn't watch Benidorm. Geoffrey Hutchings also appeared in Eastenders as father of Jane and Christian Clarkes father.
We don't watch Eastenders either, but sad to hear of his passing.
