I to went to the Orchard at Dartford, we thought that Roy Leslie was superb and what a great voice, Matt Jnr was very good and realy enjoyed the music, especially the last number when they played Matt Munro singing and Jnr joined in, the only thing that I was a dissapointed about was that I was personally hoping Jnr would sing more of his dads songs, I was also very suprised at him asking the lady for a cigarete and proceeding to smoke it ( a little distastful I thought). All in all a most enjoyable night.

"Matt Sings Monro" is a tribute show put on for the 20th anniversary. Matt Jnr is not trying to emulate his father and for that reason it was felt that a few other songs be included. Below is the full list of what is in the show and songs like "I Write the Songs" which Matt Monro never recorded was part of his live cabaret act.

Matt Monro Songs Included in Show
As Long As I'm Singing
Thanks to the Lord
Yesterday
My Kind of girl
Around the world
I Write The Songs
Portrait oF My love
Walk Away
My Way
Birth of the Blues
Born Free
We're Gonna Change The World

Non Matt Monro songs included in the show

Some kind of friend
New York, New York

So although you may not have personally heard all the above sung by Matt Monro, he in fact either recorded or perfromed them.

The part of the show where Matt Jnr asks for a cigerette is in fact part of a comedy routine which is in every show and was in every Matt Monro live performance.

We are sorry if you were offended in any way.

Thanks for your reply, I realised that matt Jnr would be singing some of his own music, but, I was hoping he would sing his Dads songs in full rather than just a quick rendition, all in all it was a great show and we both enjoyed ourselves especially with the last number when Matts voice was played for Jnr to sing with, this was wonderful, I understand your point about the cigarette but it did upset me thinking that this was properbly the main cause of his fathers death. I thought that Jnr had the same magic as his father when talking to the audience. Again thank you for your comments and I hope Jnr will tour again in the near future.

I am glad you enjoyed the show.

Just to put the record straight, Matt Monro died of an illness connected to the liver. It was totally unrelated to smoking in any way. But as you are probably a non-smoker, I totally understand your concerns.

I am not condoning the habit but just stating a fact so that there is no confusion as to why he died.
