Yes, anything could happen. The comedian who appeared with Al Martino on his tours here was making jokes about cruises and asked the audience if they've ever been on one. He said ....aren't the people old.

Looks like I added my initial post in the wrong place Lena and Harry, I didn't notice the Saga tours entries earlier. Now we're stuck in Dublin!!!! :? :?
That's a great quote about the comedian with Al Martino.. how old is Al?? John is going to introduce him to me on CD very soon.  Looking forward to it.

Marian, Al will be 80 in October. Well he did have the first entry into the British charts in 1952. John loves his music. We hope you do too.

Sorry Lena and Harry I have only just seen your post referring to Al Martino. I did indeed enjoy the cds John kindly sent. I do remember several of his songs from long ago too, like Volare and Spanish Eyes.
He has a very strong and powerful voice.

Really looking forward to the next get-together at the Beck too. It will be marvellous to meet up with you all again, and also meet some new members, as well as others who couldn't make it last year.

I did not enter the competition last month as I won for the last 2 months--but it is a shame that the competitions are not better supported.

Perhaps we should all have a go at this months comp--which I have not seen yet.

Thanks for your comments Marian, :) and yes Al Martino still has that required power to sing "Here In My Heart." That song is expected and has to be performed at every concert.
Yes we will be looking forward to the meet-up again this year.

We also didn't enter the last competition as we had just won the previous CDS. Anyhow we shall try to from now on. :) :)

Yes I agree that John will probably know the answer to the new comp---but I am sure with a little investigation that we could all find the right answer---it's a great prize !

Not annoyed

Post by Michele Monro » Mon Apr 02, 2007 8:32 pm

Reading Robert's post I want you to know I am not annoyed but it is sometimes difficult to work out what people actually want on the site and this is one area that might be better off dropped.

I am trying to keep the website fresh each month and different enough for people to want to visit on a regular basis and sometimes after certain comments about implementing an area, for instance the "swap shop"
when no-one actually uses it, you wonder who wanted it there in the first place.

Anyways if you are happy, then I am happy

Hi All

I have to be honest and say I have never entered the competitions, purely for one reason, I have never won a comp in my life! (Get your violins out).
Now I know that's a pathetic excuse, if you don't buy a ticket, you won't win the lottery, so from now on I'm going to try to support the competition page.

Just thought I'd give you all warning there's new kid on the block ;)

And Michele, sorry.

Good for you Gray. We'll have to watch out then. Now if it was something like a singing competition you could count us out for a start. Anyway, Youve got to be in it to win it.
