For those of you that haven't yet read the update on Matt's page, there are some super photos of him at Paradise Wildlife Park with a young lion cub Zara, who he has adopted. It is hoped she will be returned to a more natural habitat in Uganda next year under their Freedom in the Wild project.
There is also a pic of Matt looking dangerously close to what looks a fully grown cheetah.
Good job you didn't run Matt!

Hi Marian
Thanks for pointing us towards Matt Jnr's sojourn
at the Wildlife Park; my wife is an avid animal lover
with a particular preference for cheetahs; we have
a large print of one on our dining-room wall. Something
tells me we may be 'hightailing' it to Broxbourne in
the near future.
Keith

That 2 years seemed to have gone quickly, Robert. It only seems yesterday that he was dissecting frogs--or suchlike !!

Thanks for the info Robert. What would he like to do in the future?
I'm interested because one of my sons is very good with animals and I'm trying to encourage him to maybe go in that direction. :D

We seem to have strayed a little way away again from the Matt Jnr news, but for those interested in 'big cats' there is a live series on each night this week on BBC1 appropriately entitled "Big Cats Live" :D It comes from the Masai Mara reserve in Kenya.

Marian #1...........time just flies doesn't it  :(

Marian#2............he really want's to live and work over there in South Africa etc..................but that could be just a pipe dream.........................he may be offered full time employment at the pet store/garden centre that he works..........................so South Africa will be just a dream, as he really needs to go onto University to gain a degree  :)

Yes Robert, it's tough that most things seem to depend on qualifications, when what should really matter is commitment and enthusiasm to do the job.
I wish him all the best anyway, and hope the dream comes true. :D :D
