As well as having four great songs played on the Ed Stewart show last Sunday, Matt was also played on the Pick of the Pops programme presented by Dale Winton beforehand. The song played was Softly As I Leave You which was a non mover at no. 10 in the charts of 1962, so the song was played twice on Radio 2 on Sunday afternoon within the space of a couple of hours. Also on Pick of the Pops was Matts musical director in those days, the Johnny Spence orchestra with their superb version of the Dr Kildare theme tune which was a top 20 hit in the same week of 1962.

My tears will fall now that your gone :(
