It has some very good reviews and comments, paticularly for the Dusty and Petula's, and Peggy Lee and Harry Belafonte's tracks.

Well I've finally opened it, there is some kind of sticky security label which delayed me for a good five minutes, so it obviously works!!

On her duet with Matt, Fancy Meeting you Here" (1967) the sleevenotes read "What an extaordinary singer Matt was - perhaps Britain's finest male vocalist. We lost him far too soon, but I'm so glad I got the chance to work with Matt on my 1967 U.K. series, This is Petula Clark, from which this hails. The special lyrics refer heavily to my return to the U.K. after filming Finian's Rainbow in Hollywood."

Back later.

Enjoyed most of the songs but some stand out above others, in my humble opinion anyway.
The ones I enjoyed most, naturally were from the singers and songs I prefer, Matt's duet "Fancy Meeting You Here" is a fun number and meant to be, I really enjoyed it. Peggy Lee is as always, excellent, I also enjoyed Bobby Darin and Perry Como, and Pet's duet with Oscar Peterson too. Others I liked were Dusty, Harry Belafonte, Dean Martin and the Everly Brothers. One I'm afraid I didn't like was Petula's duet with Andy Williams, it was recorded in 2006 and it showed. I'm sorry, but singers shouldn't go on when their voices are no longer what they used to be. It's sad. :(

Yes Marian, Andy's voice is not what it used to be, and he is looking old too  :!:

Yes he was looking weary, and appeared wearing dark glasses, the voice just wasn't there.

This is indeed true, but unfortunately audio is all that is know to exist of this show. Like many other programmes this does not exist in any TV archive. In fact only one show from June 1966 exists in the BBC library and doesn't feature Matt.

So we are unlikely to SEE them perform this ever again - Unless of course you know otherwise! - Look out for more on this on the website in the not to distant future

Just as an aside, Matt also appeared (although did not sing together) with Petula Clark on an episode of Big Night Out in 1963.

Thank you for that information Richard. It is such a shame that the footage no longer exists from the show. It would have been wonderful to actually see them performing the song together.

I hope the UK isn't adopting the use of that annoying plastic security strip that goes across the top of each CD jewel box. We've had it for years in the US and it's so hard to peel off. Usually part of it stays on and you have this plastic strip at the top of your jewel box.

This Petula Clark CD sounds very interesting.

That sounds just like what was on my copy Paul. I couldn't remove it all, and it's left it a sticky residue along the top of both front and back of the jewel case. :( :(
It seems uneccessary, as it was sealed in sellophane anyway.
