Hi again everone---yes I can just hear Matt singing "You made me Love you" Also "Almost like Being in love" is a great choice---from Brigadoon also comes "The Heather on the Hill", another really good tune.
Terence, of course I remembered that film Title "Best Friends" as soon as I saw it--I bought the single from the film by James Ingram and Patti Austin.
I did actually know of the Dory Caymee connection with "Like A lover"--I have him singing this song as a duet with Maureen Mcgovern.
Pieces of Dreams is a fabulous song, I had it on a TV show video of Johnny Mathis, and he would hold one note for ever it seemed. In over 100 live concerts we have only heard him sing it once, and it was a true spine -tingling moment to hear those first few notes, and to know that we were in for a touch of magic. Truly unforgettable!
I will stay with Alan and Marilyn Bergman for the last time, and choose another 2 hauntingly beautiful songs---
"I was born in love with you"
"I was born in love with you, opened my eyes in love with you,
From another time and another Place,
From another world I remember your face"
and "Summer me, Winter me"
"Summer me, winter me
And with your kisses morning me, evening me
And as the world sleeps far away, star away
Forever me with love"
I cannot tell you how much I love those lyrics, and to hear Matt sing them would have been awesome!
Lena and Harry-if you do not know these beautiful and romantic words and music, just try checking some out. "How do you keep the Music Playing " by Johnny Mathis is a good one--also "The music never Ends" by Maureen Mcgovern. Barbra Streisand has also sung a lot of their songs.
However, I have to confess I do not know the song from "Godfather3".-I shall try and find it somewhere and give it a listen.
