Here's one by Jimmy Roselli, though I believe Al Jolson recorded it first.

That's the one, Lena and Harry, but I think I was getting mixed up with saying that Al Jolson also recorded it, I think he recorded "Little Pal", also sung by Jimmy Roselli. Lovely songs, though, both of them. :D

It is a lovely song John. We have Ann Breen's video with her singing this, Irish singer Rose Mary recorded it too, but not keen on the tempo that she sings it in.

Here's another from Dinah Washington......" Since that moment of bliss, that thrilling kiss.! :)

It was easy to identify the song, but harder to get the exact title.

Esther Phillips recorded a disco version and called it "What A Difference A Day Made".

I found the cover of the Dinah Washington album and it says "What a Diff'rence a Day Makes". I've never noticed the apostrophe in "difference" before. Through some research it seems that the lyricist Stanley Adams wrote the title as "What A Diff'rence A Day Made" when he translated the original Spanish lyrics. Jamie Cullum listed it as "What A Diff'rence A Day Made" on his twentysomething album.

Since Dinah sings "made" at the beginning and end, and only sings "makes" once, I will go with "What A Diff'rence A Day Made".

I had often wondered about that too, Paul--as I had seen it listed as the 2 different title-I prefer "makes" at the end. By the way, I just heard Esther Philips on "Sounds of the 60's" singing "Please release me"-totally different to Engelbert Humperdink--apparently she died at quite a young age.

You are of course correct with your answer Paul, and we have only ever recognised the title as What A Diff'rence A Day Makes. :)
