Just bought a new CD on eBay by Welsh songbird Maureen Evans :) Maureen had a couple of hits in the early 60's - Like I Do and I Love How You Love Me ................I don't know if I even remember her the first time, but I saw her on Youtube recently.............I think Maureen Evans is a virtually undiscoverd talent..........she has such a beautiful and powerful voice :) :)

I remember Maureen Evans---wasn't her father, the comedian, Norman Evans--or am I thinking of someone else.

Yes, she did have a good voice--but was somewhat under-rated.

Marian, I don't think Maureen Evans is the daughter of that Norman Evans  ..............I do remember her top two hits in the 60's.....Like I Do and I Love How You Love Me...............I just cannot remember Maureen Evans name (must be too young) :) ..............Maureen was one of the contestants trying to represent the UK at Eurovision in 1963, but Ronnie Carroll beat Maureen into third place in the voting..........................Ronnie went on to sing Say Wonderful Things at that years Eurovision Song Contest :)

I really did think she was the daughter of a famous comedian-but I guess i could be mistaken--I had forgotten what a good voice she had. Thanks for the link, Robert.

Listening to Maureen Evans again tonight :)

John, I hope I didn't force you into buying your copy of the CD  I hope you will not be disappointed with the CD (most of the tracks are 60's pop tracks).....................the seller Eagle Records in Germany had 5 available to sell two days ago, they now they have 3 :) ..............there are no sleeve notes, it's just blank on the inside of the pull out.................most of the tracks sound very good (maybe too clean sometimes, if you know what I mean).............but Maureens cover of Fever does sound a little bit odd to me  ..............track 12 Batchelor Girl does not sound like Maureen to me at all :!: but it probably is.................the CD lasts 77 minutes, but it is quite a loud release, so you will probably have turn the volume down a couple of notches...............the feedback you receive will be in German  but it is positive feedback.....................the CD is sealed but I had to give my copy a wipe as it must have been kept in a cold/cool place and had what were like damp marks on the playing surface, but it comes up spotless after dry cloth a clean...............listen out for Maureen's impersonation of Eartha Kitt on track 4 :) ........................................I hope I have not put you off now john  :) ...............please let us know your thoughts after receiving and playing the CD john.............thanks :)

Hi Robert, no you didn't force me into buying the cd, I listened to the youtube clips and liked her. :D I think I did read on the comments on Amazon that one person thought it was a poor transfer to cd, but someone else thought it was really good. I suppose if there were only 500 copies made we were lucky to find a copy. I'll let you know what I think of the cd, but I am sure I will enjoy it. :D

I have been checking out Maureen Evans---I do not know if that is the only album from her---but there is a huge list of singles that were released. She has been running a stage school in Cardiff, but that closed down, just this year.
