That was so good to hear "This is the Life" as the first selection on David Jacobs last night---as soon as David started talking about tv ads, I had a feeling that Matt would be on next. !

Yes, it was great that Matt Monro started the programme and it was funny when David Jacobs said he couldn't understand what the song was selling. But then the programme seemed to go downhill, apart from the instrumentals and that fabulous recording of When Your Lover Has Gone by Anthony Newley---definitely something to search for in the record shops.

He had a wonderful opportunity to play one of the exciting songs from The Supremes Sing Rodgers & Hart for his common denominator, but he stuck with the male Motown artists. Alan Titchmarsh played Night And Day by The Temptations last week. I liked it better the first time I heard it. The vibes are nice, but the song seems too slow.

Am I the only person who doesn't like the song Last Night When We Were Young? It is the antithesis of a pop song, and that's probably why I don't like it.

Thanks for the comments! I only asked you to view That's Amore but I guess from the 'Shower' bit that you glimpsed at the other clips too? Marian those two are so with it - Harry (or Lena!) understand that Dean Martin sometimes changed the lyrics - I do too!
Great to talk again to you Matt fanatics - I'm singing in Carmarthen tomorrow evening and then a trip to Pitsea for a Private Party, but this Saturday I will be adding at least 4 of Matt's songs in my 2x45mins slots!
