What are you listening to

Post by Angela51 » Sat Sep 15, 2007 11:14 pm

:( :(

Sad to say... I am not listening to anything just now :(

Attended a friend's wedding yesterday, the Disco music still ringing in my

ears, it was certainly entertaining for the children present, and kept them

amused........ lol

I am listening to Johnny Mathis singing "Because you loved me"--lovely song---
To be followed by "Long before I knew you"---Dickie Valentine---another great song by another great singer.

Not playing anything at the moment, but always associate "Misty" with Jack Jones's mother, glamorous film star Irene Hervey, as she had a small in the film, "Play Misty For Me" with Clint Eastwood.

George really loved Maria Callas---had quite a few of her recordings--and we both loved listening to her in "Carmen" with Nikolai Gedda---fabulous music and singing.

We also had it as an LP box set, which had all the words, plus the translation into English, so you could follow the action.

Yes.....Marian, The Builder has recordings of our MATT, and he hadn't realised about Matt (Jnr), he was amazed, and enjoyed the CD.

So it was a music morning, and the two-day job now finished, much to my delight.

I bet you're pleased Angela, both by getting the work finished, and discovering a Matt fan in the process. Hope you encouraged him to look at the website, and perhaps join our great forum. :D :D

Yes Terence wonderful Diva, great voice but her acting was superb. The greatest pairing in opera was Callas and di Stefano. Listening to them in La Boheme or Tosca recorded in the early 50s is opera at its very best. Our favourite Diva is Renata Tibaldi, and as for tenors di Stefano, Corelli, and Pavarotti take some beating, not forgetting Gigli. By the way have you heard the latest SENSATION, Anna Netrebko, have a look at her on YOU TUBE.
