Marian, I did mention on here a couple of weeks ago that the prices at Amazon are ridiculous ..........the reason being that this is a limited edition 500 CD release, so they are hard to find...............also how many other CD releases as L&H said have another singer singing two songs (when not meant to) ...................I did see the CD still available on eBay a few day's ago, so I will check again and try to post the link to that page (if I find it)

I had a listen to Elaine Paige's new cd last night--it sounded lovely-but I only heard a few tracks before I fell asleep---but in my defence, I had had a stressful day--my attic was completely emptied and I had every room filled with empty cardboard boxes etc etc--it was a nightmare !!!

Listening to the WONDERFUL CD by RUMER right now
If you haven't had a chance to hear Rumer......please do take the time as I think she has one of the best voices I have ever heard apart from Matt and Eva Cassidy.
"Seasons of my Soul" is the best CD of 2010

Hi Hilary---I have always thought that Rumer had a sound similar to Karen Carpenter--I have bben wondering whether to get her cd--so maybe , on your recommendation i will.

There were three hour-long programmes about Elton John on TV last weekend and one of these was of a concert he recently gave at The Roundhouse in Camden. One of the guest singers was Rumer (she sang something well known but I can't remember what it was now!). She has a pleasant, if not outstanding, voice, so her album may be worth exploring (it's had good reviews). She is also a big fan of, and has worked with, Burt Bacharach.

I'll have a look out for Rumer as well. I must admit I had never heard of her, but if she sounds anything like Karen Carpenter she must be good.
