Hi Robert, John-thought you would like to know my thoughts on the Maureen Evans cd--to be honest, I have not heard it all yet--as I tend to listen to it at night--on random--and always fall asleep before it is over !! Such a lot of songs on there !! the songs that I have heard, I do like--it is a very nostalgic sound.

I wonder why they only did 500 copies ??

Listening to "Wondrous Stories", a new compilation of so-called Prog Rock songs. I don' think all of them can count as prog rock (e.g. Andrew Lloyd Webber's Paganini Variations(!)) but it's an enjoyable collection. A standout track for me is Mountain's "Nantucket Sleighride", which was the theme tune to "Weekend World", the current affairs programme that used to be presented by Brian Walden and Matthew Parris on ITV back in the 70s and 80s. Other fine songs are Jethro Tull's "Living In The Past" and Argent's "Hold Your Head Up".

Robert-I remember you saying that some iof the tracks were by another singer-I had not realised it was Susan Maughn. Seems a strange thing to do.

Yes Marian, someone obviously got their wires crossed at the time of putting the Cd together :!: but without those two tracks, it would still be a 29 track album , which is still good value :) ................only two of the tracks are definitely not Maureen Evans (tracks 11 and 12).

Yes, it is a bit of a mystery regarding this cd, Marian and Robert. Plus only 500 copies were actually made as well.
