Yes L&H, orchestrated by Glenn Osser :) ............but while listening, I thought Jerry sounded very much like Guy Mitchell, who also had the Glenn Osser orchestra to back him too  :)

Yes, I hadn't thought of that before Robert, but I can see what you mean.
Guy Mitchell was always associated with novelty numbers, but he was a lovely ballad singer too and made some great recordings like "The Moon Got In My Eyes." and "East Of The Sun" :) :) .

No mention of Margaret Whiting tonight on Russell Davies or David Jacobs, but that is no surprise as both shows are pre-recorded a week or two beforehand  ......................so maybe next week :) .........................I know Dewi played A Tree in the Meadow though :)

We were listening to both programmes too Robert, but perhaps next week, and also Desmond Carrington.
"A Tree in the meadow" was written by Billy Reid for Dorothy Squires, but it was a big hit for Margaret Whiting in 1948. :)

I have been listening to a Margaret Whiting lp I purchased last week. Recorded in the late sixties, called "Maggie Isn't Margaret Anymore", this is a superb album, and she sings songs popular at that time, including "This Is My Song", "My Cup Runneth Over" and even Lulu's "Lets Pretend". Wonderful! :D

There is a great set advertised on Amazon Sandra, a 4 cd set released on the Jasmine label, called "My Ideal", I think it has about 112 songs. I think it is priced about £15.00. But there are several other compilations with about 20 or 30 tracks on a lot cheaper.

Yes John, that 4 disc set My Ideal has a wonderful collection of songs :) ..................John, I wonder if the LP you mentioned Maggie Isn't Margaret Anymore was released as a CD ? ............I have just about every CD release of Margaret's, including the quite expensive and well mentioned Sings the Jerome Kern Songbook, but have yet to play this CD...............waiting for a rainy day, which is probably just around the corner  :)
