Sorry again for disagreeing with everyone, but I love Ray Charles!
'What I'd Say', how about 'Crying Time'...?
You must love the theme to 'In The Heat Of The Night'!?

Marian - thanks for encouraging me to go out and buy 'Voice Of My Heart' - I shall take up the recomendations and let you know how I get on!

Don't worry Gray, you're not alone in your liking of Ray Charles!
I love many of his tracks, some of which were covered by the wonderful Bobby Darin, 'Sitting on top of the world', 'I wonder whose kissing her now', and 'I got a woman' to name a few.
He was also a great character in 'The Blues Brothers'!

It certainly was Terence, as I have the cd here , right by my side!!
And yes, it does contain "On the Balcony of the Casa Rosada/Don't cry for me Argentina"--nearly 8 minutes long !!
As far as I am aware ,all the Lps that the Carpenters ever made have been issued on CD-I certainly do not know of one that has not.
Let me know if you cannot get hold of it.

The Carpenters' album, Passage, also contains that quirky hit of theirs, "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft", and a friend of mine of more mature years was recently telling me that his young colleagues wouldn't believe him when he said that the song was recorded by the Carpenters, as they considered it to be quite a cool track. He had to bring the album in to prove it to them.

We had the 'Passage' album when I was a child, but Dad has taken all his LPs to the charity shop! That was a few years ago now after we bought him a CD player for Christmas!
I particularly remember their cover of 'Don't Cry for me Argentina', and the accompanying scene. Karen, of course sang it beautifully, but it was even better for the dramtic build up of the preceding scene. Of course I remember 'Calling Occupants' from that album too - very topical with 'Close encounters' being released at a similar time!
But the song I loved most off 'Passage' was 'Sweet,Sweet smile' - -a bouncy and optimistic love song that I remember Mum singing and dancing around the dining room too! (thats where we kept our monster size stereo system!). There was also the very quirky, and slightly belated, 'Woman are smarter'
