We went to Sandringham a couple of years ago - a beautiful part of the country.

What a superb find you had in the Charity Shop - well done :D :D

That was a good find Sandra, it is very rare to find a Matt Monro record in a charity shop, I have never seen one. :)

Same goes for car boot sales as well, I always got lots of LP's from car boots, but in all my time of collecting I never saw a Matt Monro one at a car boot sale. Far too precious! :D

I did find one once at a Car Boot Sale John, it was a double album too. :D
My very first Jack Jones album also came from a Car Boot, for 50p - JJ Sings Michel Legrand, a beautiful album :D

I do not think that I ever bought a record at a Boot Fair-George used to try and sell some of my old ones though.

I bought more Lps at record fairs.--But they were a whole lot more expensive than a boot fair or charity shop. Some of our charity shops will not take LPs now--there are a whole load of charity shope in Paddock Wood and Tonbridge--must be at least a dozen between them--2 new ones just this year !!!

Years ago in my youth   I always used to go to a car boot sale on a Sunday morning with my Mum, She alwys looked for books and I searched through the records, used to love it. I haven't been to one for a few years now, I think if I bought many more records the ceiling would collapse as they are all upstairs, although my collection is nowhere near as big as 2 of my good friends on here,...mentioning no names.

yes it was amazingly lucky. We once went back three times to an antique/junk shop in a seaside village called Sutton on Sea on the Lincolnshire coast as the top floor was groaning with LP's,singles and 78's many in poor condition.
We found a few Syd Lawrence LP's but only a couple of compilations with a Matt track on.
We couldn't face even starting on the singles!
Their was one Hits Of Yesterdays LP but in poor condition :(

P.S. to Marian and Marian -there were lots of Jack Jones and Johnny Mathis but we knew that you both had them all!!

That was really nice of you to think of us both Sandra--it is well nigh impossible now to get anything that I have not already got on JM--although there are a few gaps in my JJ collection--but not too many, due to Marian's help.
