Here's more great singers from yesteryear,

Ronnie Hilton
Malcom Vaughan
David Whitfield
Alma Cogan

I have cd's by all three and was delighted when both Ronnie and David were guests on the Wheeltappers & Shunters Social Club dvd's.

Ronnie Hilton sang the best version of The Wonder Of You years before Elvis had a ht with it.

Has anyone seen Alma's latest dvd? I really enjoyed it and some of her guests were a real surprise, a very young Cliff Richard, Pearl Carr & Teddy Johnson, Winifred Atwell (who displayed a nice line in humour), Adam Faith and The Everly Brothers to name a few. Alma's recorded version of Eight Days A Week done ballad style is wonderful, the first time I heard it was obviously an edited version as it started and ended as a ballad, the next time it was released they had added a jazzy bit when the ballad part finished which totally ruined the mood.

Hi Karl--that's fine, I do not mind being called Mariana--it is actually the title of one of my favourite books-part of the reason I chose it.

I did not know that Alma Cogan had a dvd out-I really enjoyed the programme they showed about her on Tv, a while back-I will have to check that out.

You'll enjoy it Marian, we never had a tv set when Alma was on at least not until she was too ill and her current tv plans were cancelled, mum wouldn't let dad buy one as she thought we would not our school homework! Oh Ye Of Little Faith!!!
