Re: FAVOURITE SOUNDTRACK OR CAST ALBUM
I have loads--and loads---
My favourite has to be "Carousel" , the National Theatre version, from 1984, with Joanna Riding as Julie, Katrina Murphy as Carrie, and Michael Hayden as Billy. it has so much more than is on the Film soundtrack. And all 3 have great voices.
I also love the version with Barbara Cok, as Julie, Sarar Brightman as Carrie--but I was not so keen on Samuael Ramey who played Billy--at least i think he was in that one--I also think this is the one where they sing "The Carousel Waltz" with lyrics !
And also the Japanese soundtrack--although it does sound Bizzarre-especially singing, "When I marry Mr Snow", as it is all in Japanese--until they come to Mr Snow. which is in English.

Re: FAVOURITE SOUNDTRACK OR CAST ALBUM
Never been a fan of musicals as a genre as such, though I like songs from musicals on their own. Les Miserables and High Society are two musicals I like.
Film music has more appeal: I like the music from "Jurassic Park" (the first film in the trilogy) and I also love the score to a 1970 horror film "Blood on Satan's Claw" composed by Marc Wilkinson, though the music is difficult to obtain commercially.

Re: FAVOURITE SOUNDTRACK OR CAST ALBUM
Mariana, stay away with the one with David Essex as Che.. that one is a stinker.. are real stinker!! I like David Essex as a pop star but not in musicals.
Re: FAVOURITE SOUNDTRACK OR CAST ALBUM
I already have that one--it is the original with Elaine Paige--I do not much like David Essex singing--but I do like him sing "Oh what a circus".
Well I have tracked the other one down on Amazon, and ordered from the new and used section at a bargain price-less than £5.00 including PP.
But here is a strange thing. I went downstairs to feed the dogs, and as I switched on the radio in the kitchen Julie Covington was singing "Don't cry for me Argentina"-I could not believe my ears !!!
