I think this is "You've got me crying again"

The day I was born, said me father said he
I've got an elegant legacy waiting for me
It's a rhyme for your lips, it's a song for your heart
To sing it whenever the world falls apart

Don't recall this one, but sounds as if there's a little bit of Irish there somewhere :D

You are right there ---and it comes from a film musical with an Irish Connection.

Henry, we also have several versions of this song and the only singer we know to sing the verse is Vera Lynn.

Here's one you should know, L & H

In old Savannah, I said, Savannah,
the weather there is nice and warm:
the climate's of the southern brand,
but here's what I don't understand:
they've got a gal there, a pretty gal there,
who's colder than an artic storm;
got a heart just like a stone,
even icemen leave her alone.......

This must be "Hard Hearted Hannah " Henry. :)

Here;s another.

I oten used to wonder what the fuss was all about.
When it told me how exciting love would be.
And I used to smile politely though I hadn't any doubt
It was something that would never bother me.
And all the time this happened like a bolt from out the blue.
And it hit me and it knocked me nearly flat-- and that was that

No it isn't Marian, but it's got Love in the title and you will no doubt know it. It's a Johnny Mathis number :)

No that isn't the song Henry, but the refrain to this song begins with... Beat the drum, bang the gong, THERE YOU HAVE IT NOW. :)
