Well the farce commonly known as Eurovision is over for another year how I wish it would be over permanently!.

You don't even see any musicians anymore. Remember the days when you knew at least some of the conductors?

Sweden won Eman, with a singer named Loreen.
We watched the football, but just switched over to see Engelbert, and the voting.
Engelbert done his best I suppose, but if only he had worn something with some colour. The whole act was so drab, like he was doing a Johnny Cash impression The Man In Black, but at least he wasn't bottom and for a long time that's how it was looking.

I am glad to hear someone other than me thinks Engelbert's song is awful, however I have to say he sang it better than the record but yes, he did look rather drab!

I think the result was an insult. Yes, I agree the song was poor to say the least but I didn't think the result would be as bad as all that. It wasn't Engelbert, he sang well, I thought ,it was just the song.

John the voting is a joke, all the neighbouring countries vote for each other and to think Russia scored so highly - how did it become part of Europe anyway? For awhile I thought Russia was going to win - as I said earlier its been a farce for years and should be scrapped.

Engelbert obviously did not gain votes on his reputation and also being on first did not help.

The voting has been a complete joke for many years.

I still like Englebert's song--I just did not think it was right for Eurovision.

Why didn't we put Kate Bush forward--as it was a complete lookalike who won ?? And quite honestly, I did not like the song--and once again, it has already been a big hit in Europe for the last few weeks or so--how can they judge on a song that is already a big hit--why couldn't we enter---well, anything that has been a big hit recently.

I wonder what Michael thinks of it all--and I wonder if he was there last night !! Maybe I will check on Facebook.

Yes, the voting has been a joke for many years, and like you say Karl, all the neighbouring countries vote for each other, so we haven't a chance. It is time to scrap it, or we should just pull out of it altogether.

I guess there is only one good thing about not winning-at least this country has not got to fork out millions on hosting next years event-after all the expennce of the Jubilee celebrations and Olympics.

My sister lives and works in London, so she is dreading driving to work when the Olympics are on---plus shortly afterwards the Paralympics.
I did not know that all the roads in London will have one lane allocated to Olympic traffic and Black cabs only--and if you go into an Olympic lane you will be fined £1000.00. Even now, there is road resurfacing going on everywhere--I expect Harry knows all about these problems--are you taking a few weeks off work, Harry ??--Jill is hoping to take at least one of the weeks off.

And I was surprised when I watched the Marathon--I did not recognise London --where I was born, lived for 30 years, and worked for nearly 40 years. Goodness knows how mamy millions of pounds have been spent already--I do not think I want to know.

Marian it's the same with Edinburgh's tram works. I was born here, I know how to get into town by bus but they are constatnly changing both the routes and stops for me to get home - I never know where to go and feel like a stranger in my own city - sometimes they change it twice in a week!

It's a wonder the bus drivers are not on valium sandwiches!!!!

I think that we should just pull out of Eurovision. Not because we're losing, but because the voting is a joke and it's a long and tedious show and many of the songs are rubbish.
