What's In Your CD Player/iPod/MP3/Computer/Hi Fi, Right Now?
I remember the occasion well, Robert!! JBJ was my favourite tv programme at that time.
It caused a lot of trouble over here----but being an American, he had never heard either of those singers before, and was just giving what he thought was his honest opinion--but it took a long time for him to live that down.

Today, I felt I needed to listen to something American because I've been watching the political party conventions. So I listened to Al Green. Soul music doesn't get much better than that.
Ruby Murray was an Irish singer, Paul, best known for her hits "Softly, Softly" and "Heartbeat". She was most popular in the 50's and I think she held some sort of record for having the most singles in the charts at the same time, perhaps Lena and Harry may know a little more. She had a very pleasant voice, she died several years ago.
Ruby Murray was very popular in her day--or should I say "Back in the day"!
She still holds the record for 5 recordings in the top twenty at the same time. She actually died in 1996.
But her name lioves on--I cannot remember any other star, whose name has come to mean something entirely different---for the benefit of Paul--if anyone asks if you want a "Ruby"---they mean "curry" [rhyming slang.
