Bette Middler singing "Hey there" comes from her tribute album to Rosemary Clooney-a really nice cd.

And "Laura" sung by JM, is one of my least favourites of his recordings---I just do not like the song

I've always associated "Hey There" with Edmund Hockridge who is still going stong at 89.
I must admit I have never been that keen on the song Laura, but it's grown on me, but my Brother-in-law hates it.

I had Rosemary Clooney on an old 78 singing "Hey There" so I've always associated it with her.
I liked Edmund Hockridge's version too though. :D Good to hear he is still around.

I like "laura", and I like JM's version of it. Strange how people differ.

No Robert--not even Matt---I just do not like the song.

And talking of "Hey there"--I had always associated it with Sammy Davis Jnr.

I did not realise that Edmund Hockridge was 89, he was one of my favourites "back in the day " !!!!!

Listening to Johnny Mathis at the moment singing "Misty", one of his best, I think. What do you say, Mariana? 8)

Never been struck on "Misty" as a song, and JM's recording of it is one I rarely listen to.

I'm with Jon and Robert on this one, I love Matt singing Laura.
I'm not too keen on Misty and tend to associate it with Clint Eastwood in Play Misty For Me, which makes it a little spooky
I may have mentioned before, Jack Jones's mother, Irene Hervey, was in that film.

Gosh, I didn't know that Marian!
I shall watch the film again and spot her.

I like the song Misty, by the way! :)

Well--I really do not like the song "Misty"---although I heard it at EVERY single JM concert I ever went to--about 150--so I guess if he did not sing it, i would miss it.

I will never forget one tour, when the first half of the first concert, he came out as normal in Tuxedo, black tie etc--the second half he had on a completely new and very casual outfit--straight into "Misty"--and the first line---
"Look at me"............... it was so funny-we were all laughing--the band was laughing---JM was laughing.

Irene Hervey doesn't have a very big part Gray, but you won't miss her.
I think she takes the part of a reporter, and she was quite a mature lady at the time.
In her younger days she was a real Hollywood star, very beautiful!
She was in quite a number of films in those days.
:D
