Paul

Did you actually post your Top 5 albums in the end? Can't see them.

No, Jon, I never actually posted my favourite albums. I have been thinking and thinking about this for months. I am clear about my top 3, but I keep changing my mind about the fourth and fifth. Well, anyway, I will provide five now.

1. Real Love by Lisa Stansfield -- just the best collection of songs I've ever heard ... it is the perfect album.

2. Rise by Gabrielle -- a true concept album of heartbreak, loss, and renewed hope.

3. Parachutes by Coldplay -- their first, but still their best ... each song follows each other so well with so much emotion and depth.

4. Fly Away by Voyage -- classic disco album from the 1970s ... a thrilling journey around the world.

5. New Weave by Rare Silk -- a stunning album of tight harmonies and cool grooves by the 1980s jazz vocal quartet.

Good to see you got round to this at last, Paul! Interesting selection, not all of which I share (as you probably know, I'm at best indifferent to Coldplay), but I'm not familiar with the last two artists you mention, so I may give them a go - not just yet though as I'm heavily into Debussy's Preludes at the moment!

Well Paul-we have waited a long time for your selection--not quite what I was expecting--but interesting nevertheless.

The New Weave CD by Rare Silk is being sold used on amazon on ebay for over $40, sometimes over $100. It's long been out of print, so I am treasuring my copy.

This was my first posting today, but after I submitted the post, the words "You cannot post so soon after your last posting" appeared  :)
