special days in October

Today would have been George's birthday---he would have been 93 today--which sounds old---but he never seemed old to me.

I thought he was going to be like his mother, who was nearly 100 when she died.

I am really missing him today---especially as I had some photos yesterday from Australia of his 2 great grand children --Willow aged 2, and Harvey, just a few months old. He would have been ecstatic to know about them.

Thanks everyone--I am printing out the photo of Ingrid [his daughter] with Willow-- [his great grandaughter] , and putting it in the cabinet beside George's photo--he would be very proud of that, I know.

My lovely friend bought me a big bouquet of yellow Chrysanthemums, as she remembered they were George's favorites.

I actually tripped over in the kitchen yesterday, landed on my bad knee, but by some miracle did not land flat on my face--so I guess that George was watching over me.

Thinking of my lovely Mum on this day the 13th of October, her Birthday.
She sadly passed away in November 2003 at the age of 96
Not a day goes by when I don't think of her, but I have so many happy and treasureded memories to keep.

I know how you feel L&H, my mum's anniversary is coming up soon. We never stop missing them do we?

No we don't Karl. It's often tough bringing up kids today, but many of us have experienced what it was really like for our parents a few decades ago.
