Not exactly a movie, I know, but last night watched "An Audience With Ken Dodd" . Seen it many times and it is still as funny as ever, I think he is one of Britain's best comics, very inoffensive and a good singer as well.

I have some old videos of Ken Dodd in his show. I can always guarantee he can cheer you up if you're feeling down at all.

We watched Ken Dodd's later Audience with on Saturday, guaranteed to give you a good laugh. How he remembers those jokes and fires them like a machine gun and with such timing makes him surely one of the best comedian's this country's ever had. Brilliant.

"What a wonderful day, what a wonderful day for pouring a bucket of ice cubes down your wife's blouse and saying "How's that for the chest freezer you always wanted""

Watched Thora Hird and Freddie Frinton in a couple of episodes of a sitcom from the sixties "Meet The Wife". It was hilarious, but then Dame Thora was brilliant in anything she was in.

A laugh starts at the chuckle muscle in the 'diagram',
rises up past the clack, then comes out through the
titter valve
- Ken Dodd.

Dame Thora was a brilliant actress. Remembering from "Last Of The Summer Wine" she was the worst driver around and searching for the gear stick asks Wesley....have you been moving things around

That was such a funny programme-George used to laugh so much, that he would fall off the settee-I would laugh more at him than the programme. Some of Compo's antics--especially in the early series--were hysterical. !

I always used to watch "Last Of The Summer Wine", the longest running tv comedy in Britain, still going strong after 36 years. It isn't the same as it used to be though, but then again, what is?

You are right , John--it is not the same. Sadly so many of the original characters are no longer with us--and quite honestly I never watch it now--even the repeats.

Watched "Nearly A Nasty Accident" last night, another British film comedy from the early 60's, with Kenneth Connor and Jimmy Edwards. Not the best I have seen, but very watchable.
