Memory Lane Programme

Post by nickthebottlewasher » Sat Jan 05, 2013 8:05 pm

Evening all!
Join me tomorrow afternoon at 4pm UK time on Bay FM http://www.bayfm.co.uk for our regular 3-hour stroll down 'Memory Lane.' This week it will be a ‘Pot Pourri’ of music from a spread of over 60 years! There will be birthday tributes to Jule Styne, John Denver, Julius LaRosa, Maxene Andrews, Carroll Gibbons and Nino Tempo, amongst several others, a farewell to Patti Page, plus requests and dedications from you, the listeners, whilst the last part of the programme will be music from film, stage, radio and TV, including Matt. Hopefully I'll be able to bring back some memories for you and I'll be giving out gold stars if you remember some of these singers. In addition I'll also introduce you to some singers whom you've either forgotten or missed altogether first time around.
Three hours of our sort of music, around 50 songs, without too much chat. :D
Take care,
Nick.

We've enjoyed listening to Nick's recent Sunday programmes on Bay fm and hearing several mentions of Matt and his songs.
There is certainly a mixture of music and a guessing game of many artists and musicians, and the opportunity to e-mail, text or phone anytime and ask for a request for a coming programme.
We heard the Remembrance Day programme on the "Listen Again " feature and that was a reminder of the days when singers had to be able to sing.
Thanks Nick !!!

Thank you so much for your kind words. I always try to include songs or singers that everyone else seems to ignore and hopefully it's working. I've certainly had a positive reaction so far, and the people with whom I've been in contact thanks to the programme have been lovely!
