We spotted Petula too on New Year's Eve and thought she was looking good. We also turned over to see the fireworks on BBC1, so didn't hear her sing.

I just caught the "Legends" part tonight, and really enjoyed it--but now i have seen it, I do recall seeing it before-but what perplexed me was no mention of the musical that she wtote and starred in, with Dave Willetts, who she actually discovered--but I do not think it was much of a success, so maybe that was why.

I had forgotten a lot of the stuff she had done, particularly the musicals, i could only remember "Sunset Boulevard", and my friend who saw Petula in it said she was amazing-loads better than Elaine Paige who was also in it for a while--because as my friend said--Petula is also an actress--Elaine is not. The clip from "Blood Brothers" looked so emotional, I wonder how she performed like that every night-it must have been draining on her.

Enjoyed the show following--although it was not a concert--just one of a series that she made-and only half an hour long--but good to hear her sing some different songs.

Marian(a) I think the clip of Petula singing Tell Me It's Not True was from a concert performance, she did that when I saw her in concert and closed the first half of her show - she wore the tweed coat for the song. She was absolutely wonderful and wrung every ounce of emotion out of that song.

, Oh, I thought that clip was from a live performance--and I thought she was wearing a red coat--maybe there were 2 clips, but I did not see one on the 2nd show.

Petula clark was on THE ONE SHOW tonight, which gave us that familiar feeling that she was going to talk about her latest CD LOST IN YOU. She was certainly looking really good, and her UK tour is in October. :)

I am currently listening to Petula's new cd which just arrived (very good, the day after the release).

I am so impressed, it is not the Petula of old but definitely Petula 2013, at the start she sounded so different but then the familiar tones came in.

This is an album Petula should be very proud of and one I will be listening to again and again.

Wow, I'll have to look into getting my folks this cd. Can't believe my Mom is gonna be as old as Petula in October. Glad to see she's still recording though and still can sing. :D
