I wonder if Wendy ever read these pages without us knowing :) many people can of course just read the posting's, without becoming a member.

Wendy's funeral is to take place on Monday. All places in the church are filled of course but her husband has said that the public are welcome to listen to the service outside.

I would imagine there will be a lot of people outside paying their last respects.

It looks like there were John, and it looked to be a very special gathering of friends for a very special lady.

It certainly was a large gathering with actors and actresses from the current and past and present series in which Wendy played a role.
They played Glenn Millers "In The Mood" and Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit In The Sky" and included her menu for chilli con carne on the service order.
We've a feeling there could be some experimenting with that recipe in a few homes today all because of that great lady. :)

I wondered if any memories of Matt's funeral came back to Barbara Windsor as she attended his too.

Yes, Wendy's humour was right there until the very last moment, choosing In the Mood and Spirit in the Sky for her funeral service...........but no sign of a Matt song though :( ....................I know her coffin was a bio-gradable one...............but I thought it looked like a large picnic basket  :)

Wendy's wicker coffin was her own choice. She said that she didn't want one that was made of wood that could be cut down from a lovely tree. :)

My cousins Brother-In- Law passes away about Ten months ago .
He had a humanist funeral, a wicker coffin, no hymns, no prayers.
At the end of the family tributes etc and at his own request he had Doors playing "Come On Baby Light My Fire."

George always said that he wanted to be buried in the back garden !!!

I did not go that far-but I did keep everything as simple as possible, as I know that is what he would have wanted.

I must admit that in all our our other houses there was at least one cat buried in the back garden---and in this house there is at least one buried in the back garden and one in the front garden---but one in the back garden was buried by mistake---as he was not ours !!!! A long story !!!

Are you sure the mistaken buried cat had already died Marian, or did you bury it alive by mistake too
