ALEXANDRA BASTEDO

Post by jon » Mon Jan 13, 2014 4:41 pm

Alexandra Bastedo, famous as Sharon Macready in The Champions (1967-68), died yeaerday aged 67. She was the founder of the ABC Anmal Sanctuary in Sussex, which announced her death. Sad news for all of us of a certain generation who grew up watching The ChHampions and their superhuman exploits. She was only 20 at the time but I always thought she looked much more mature than that. Rest In Peace, Alexandra.

67 is no age, Alexandra was a lovely girl. I remember my mum liked her.

Rest in peace.

She was gorgeous in The Champions.
I attended a Christmas Concert at Birmingham Town Hall
which featured Stuart Damon(Craig) in the hope Sharon
would be there.I must have been around 8 or 9 and was surprised to see
a rather portly American in a thick black silk belt.Later years taught me
it was a cummerbund.Powerful voice though.

R.I.P. Alexandra.
