Susan Boyle..... Mainly, I saw her on all of the morning news shows.. Good Morning America.. The Early Show ..and The Today show.. also on You Tube...which I clicked on many times..I don't know when I have seen a re-action, like that ever. As`I mentioned before, I loved watching Simon. and I particularly loved when the lovely lady(sorry, I don't know her name) on the panel... said how priviledged she was to hear her voice.. In fact, after I finish this note to you Robert, I will listen to her again... I might add You Tube, was where I discovered beautiful Matt Monro... By the way, how often is this talent show on and here it is American Idol... What is the name of your British show? I will positively want to know about Susan Boyle.... And thankyou for the welcome back Robert.... Have A happy day!!

Hi Lori--the lady judge on the panel is called Amanda Holden-I really like her, and the comments she makes.

The lady is called Susan Boyle, and the show is called Britain's Got Talent---very similar, obviously to "America's got Talent" that Piers also appears on.

It just started last Saturday, and will be on every Saturday for the next few weeks. I guess Simon is commuting between the US and UK, as we see "American Idol" on Thursday and Friday, but I think in US, it is on earlier in the week.

We have our own version--now called "X factor", but that is usually on round about Autumn, finishing just before Christmas.

I heard on the radio, that Susan Boyle will be appearing on the "Oprah Winfrey" show. She does noi appear to have done many shows over here yet--if any--but that may be because she is still under contract to "Britain's got talent"

Apparently she has had 20 million hits on youtube. I think she is great.
In 1999 she recorded a track for a local charity album, Cry Me A River, the audio of that is also on youtube.

I only watched about an hour of the show tonight, nowhere near as good as last week. There was some rubbish on tonight. The only decent act I saw was the Saxaphoist who played "Somewhere". Brilliant.

I do not like saxophonists normally, but I agree the guy playing "Somwhere" was excellent.

The young boy singing at the end had a good voice, although I think I would prefer him singing something different.

Apart from the little girl who sang "I Could Have Danced All Night" and the last dance act It was quite poor again tonight, I thought. But then, Susan Boyle is a hard act to follow.

Yes, everything else seems an anti-climax now, I feel.

Although tonight, lots of acts went through that we did not actually see.

And some again, were truly awful !! Which they chose to show !!! Why !!!

The little Ten year old girl Hollie Steel had an incredible voice. The ballet routine was un-necessary though, thousands of kids can do that.
We thought the lady who had supposedly been singing since the age of nine and had been singing in choirs ever since was going to be another Susan Boyle We should have known, miracles don't happen twice on these shows.

I agree Lena and Harry, the ballet routine was uneccesary, but I believe it was just to add the surprise element to the act when Hollie started to sing. Her voice certanly came as a surprise to me.
I don't think she will need to use the ballet introduction again.
I suppose she was lucky she didn't get buzzed straight away!

I thought the dance group of guys near the end were good too.

I think Hollie was lucky as I am sure that Simon was about to buzz, just before she started singing--she certainly had an amazing voice for a child of her age, and a great deal of composure.

Totally diffferent was the other so called "Singer", Claire, who wanted to release her own cd--started by bouncing [literally] , and she even needed a piece of paper to sing the words, which she still did not get right--apart from sounding just awful.

I do not know how these people have the nerve to go up on stage--and she had the cheek to be annoyed at their comments-I wonder how she will feel when she sees the video of herself---and compares herself to 10 year old Hollie !!

Yers the dance grouy were very good--but there have been so many already, and they all seem to have dozens of dancers, it is becoming quite difficult to separate them.
