I have been following the BBC 1 series ..."Call The Midwife" that is based on life and child berth around the Fifties, and some music and songs of that era have regularly been included. Tonight the series ended with Johnny Mathis singing...
" I Look At You " :)

Yes I heard JOhnny last night during the show.,

Until Christmas I had never seen Call The Midwife but I watch it now, it's a nice pleasant show.

I am glad Chummy's Policeman husband won over Chummy's frosty mother, he has a good heart, Did anyone actually their mother Mater? How sad to have such a distant relationship with your parents, if that's what money does I'm glad we never had that much.

Some years ago when my mum was still alive I bought my great nephew an electric train set for Christmas and jokingly said to her "I never had an electric train set I was deprived". Quick as a flash she said "Aye but you had food on the table and you were loved". I could not argue with that! :)

WARNING : this is a sad story about baby ...........

Call the Midwife is a show i love but breaks my heart at the same time...it is amazing how it dealss with such sensitive issues ...death in child birth an Post natal depression...absolutely deserves an award all round.

just before i left my job ...there was 6 ladies expecting babies ...it was such a lovely lovely time ...they had to have double baby showers....but........my boss walked towards me whilst i was in the garden with the children i helped looked after...ashen faced...she broke the news that one of the girls baby had died....3 days old and out of hospital....pictures on face book from the proud daddy...nursery all decorated with babies name on the wall.... everything stood still.....i was lucky' as a part timer it was almost time for me to go home ....we were all numb...the lady worked in baby room too .....my boys were at work but i just wanted to throw my arms around them .....every day approx 17 babies die for no "apparent" reason in this country.....it was beyond shocking ....all the ladies that had had their babies were so frightened for their babies and crying to friends and asking "will i lose my baby" ? ....but of course thankfully ...it is so rare but hits you like sledgehammer when you personally know of this terrible tragedy....the lady has been so brave...this was just short of a year ago and very fresh in my mind......as far as i know she went to work again with the babies but Christmas hit her hard.....Call the Midwife is a very important drama in my eyes ....helps people talk about such a difficult heart rending subject....t

Maxine years ago my aunt was married for seven years before she had a baby and she lived for three days, three years later she had Alison and then Donna.

Forward years later when Alison was married and then had Joanna which was a traumatic birth resulting in Joanna being blind in one eye. However she is amazing and now working as a teacher, she had a wonderful wedding a few years ago and in January gave birth to her own son with no problems.

I am going to see baby Oliver tomorrow for the first time so I have a bag of presents for him.

Wow what a real bummer Maxine. Call The Midwife, I should try and give it a chance again. I just couldn't get into it for some reason but maybe I'll get the first series and give it a shot.

No, I have not been watching "Call the Midwife" as for personal reasons, it is a programme quite hard for me to watch.

We seem to have gone a little off-thread here--no problem of course-it often happens-

But to bring things up to date, it is exactly 4 weeks tonight till the first concert in London. !!Woo, hoo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started my banner again last night, after Harry chewing 3 holes in the last one.

I also made an appointment with the vet for their kennel cough jabs--a cool £60.00 !!!!!!!!!!

But I feel as though I am on the way .......

I definately will Eman. I posted one on Facebook recently that I made some years ago--but when I get chance I will put it onto my own page so that you can see it-at the moment, it is just on the Club page.

I managed to get nearly 2 letters done so far. So just over 7 to go.
