LOL Maxine, yeah I know. In my school if you weren't a member of the Official BCR fan club in Preston Pans Edinburgh, lol you weren't a true fan!! And yes we had the divided fans of Starsky's vs. Hutches. We Hutches always said Starsky had no gray matter and Hutch was the brains.

Though I'm excited for you when you see Paul Michael Glaser, you have to let me know if he sings as well as David Soul.

LOL Now can you imagine if it was one of the BCR's or Morrissey..I'd probably faint!! LOL I do hope you get to meet him and have a pic taken together.

Eamon ,Prestonpans is not in Edinburgh but close by.

David Soul has nothing to worry about with regards to Paul Michael-Glasier's singing as I saw the show a few months ago, he gets by that's about it.

Also The original lead had amazing vocal
And his character more prominent
On a big screen IMHO but I don't care
How he sings .. He was in the original
And I used to love him and he doesn't sing
All the songs and I cannot wait ;0) even
Though I know i will be sobbing when
One of the daughters explains she loves
Her home but chooses to go away and love
With her love .... Too much too much
Softly, I will leave you softly
For my heart would break if you should wake and see me go.....

Complete US & UK SIngles As & Bs 1955-1962 - Connie Francis

(A superb new 3 cd set, Connie had a great range, listen to her sing God Bless America and there won't be a dry eye in the house!)

Maxine , in the film, I cannot remember Paul Michael Glaser siinging--the daughter is singing to her father saying why she has to go away--I agree, reallky sad, I always cry at that part. In the Musical now running Paul Michael Glaser takes the part of Tevye, the father--so the daughter will be singing to him. I could never remember the names of the daughters !
But I love that film so much.

In fact we had an argument at our quiz last night---one of the questions was , what musical did the song "Money Money , Money" come from--so I said "Cabaret" of course--but someone insisted it was "Fiddler on the roof" as she remembered someone singing it " in a foreign accent" But as I said , I know "FOTR" inside out, I know it is not from that, so things got a bit heated--but I was writing the answers down, and I would not budge !!!!!

Incidentally the same lady, just a few weeks ago, insisted that Doris Day was in "Annie get your gun" as she could see her riding on the wagon !! Again, I ignored her !!!!

Marian perhaps she was thinking of othe album Doris made of Annie Get Your Gun, I think Robert Goulet was also on the album.

No, she would not be thinking of that, She is not that much into music, It was the film she meant !!
