Don said The Singers Singer I think it was on his first week back for a lady singer I can't remember who.
Now he's said it for Vic Damone, what a cheek.

I was just thinking can't you record it on your dvd or sky box? I don't have sky but I have recorded radio programmes on the dvd hard drive. I thought I was very smart for doing that!!!!mariana44 wrote:Yes Karl, i have listened before to it on Listen again--I even have it as an app on my phone---but trying to get the time to fit it in is not easy !!

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Yes, i can do that quite easily--it just never occurs to me-I shall try and remember this weekend.

Don played Matt singing If I Never Sing Another Song tonight
.................he said Connie Francis heard a version of this song on the radio in the late 70's which gave her the determination to sing again after she lost her voice after her motel attack in 1974 ..............but was this show a repeat as Don said Doris Day would be celebrating her 90th birthday shortly (in was in April)

"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
a nice song by Johnny Mathis on too Marian - MY ROMANCE

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Oh My--"My Romance" is one of my favourite ever JM tracks-from the first lp of Jm that I ever bought--at 39 shillings and ninepence ??whatever is that in todays money. It was a double album of "Rhythms and Ballads of Broadway", and for a long time it was the only lp I had-so I listened to it a LOT !! I cannot ever remember hearing it on the radio before-I have heard it sung by others, but JM is defiatelt the best--and I think he is the only one who sings the Intro---"I won't give you flowers. madame, Crazy for you, though I am , I'll never woo you on bended knee--no madame -not me " . Love, love , love it !!

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
I've just been listening to a clip of Johnny Mathis on Facebook singing "Warm" I'm sure Marian will be familiar with the song, I don't think I've heard JM sing this song before but he sings is beautifully .

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Actually , he sings 2 different songs called "Warm", but I think the one you are thinking of is from the album called "Warm"--at one time I had 10 copies of this album, because they all had a different cover--It is one of his earlier albums and has songs like "My one and only love" "By Myself" "I'm glad there is you" "what'll i do ". it is on a double cd with "Swing Softly" --with "It's delovely" "Love walked in " "Sweet Lorraine" and my favourite from this double cd--"Like someone in love".
