Yes, the Rock Show was pretty painful. :x I knew all the songs but Allison's. I wasn't sorry to see her leave. Her voice is not particularly special. And Adam's high notes are becoming all too expected. But I still like Danny, so I'm hoping he will win.

Big surprise last night to see Danny go--I was sure Kris would go--he just does not seem to have the charisma of Danny or Adam.

I think the title is Adam's now, for sure.

I watched the first half of the final tonight which was somewhat spoiled for me by seeing the result on line first thing this morning. I won't say any more for now, but will watch the final show tomorrow evening. :D :D

It's best to record the two hour show and watch it later. There might be 10 minutes worth watching. Basically a bunch of has-beens and over-performed songs. And they made Danny sing one of the worst songs ever written: Hello by Lionel Ritchie. :x Having to sit through Rod Stewart singing the full length version of Maggie May was pure torture. :(

I wasn't surprised by the winner. Seven out of eight times a southerner has won. And Kris improved through the season whereas Adam didn't grow or change much. However, I'm not sure either will be that successful. I think Danny will do the best as he has the best voice for radio and live shows.

I set out to watch the whole show tonight, it would have been a first, but my daughter phoned and saved me for half an hour.
What I did see I quite enjoyed, hoping I had missed Rod Stewart, but it was not to be. Out he strutted in all his glory, along with Maggie May.
I liked the ending with Queen and "We Are the Champions". I could see Adam as a follow on for Freddie Mercury, he quite looked the part.
I think Kris was genuinely surprised to win, but Adam took defeat very graciously I thought.
Good luck and all the best to them both. :D :D

Harry was busy on the computer tonight, so I thought that as I haven't been following the series and I hadn't heard who the winner was, I would look in to see the show.
Well I only have myself to blame for sitting through this load of tripe. and after hearing both finalists sing I can only be grateful that I missed all the other weeks.

:o C'mon Lena. I know deep down inside, you were loving The Black Eyed Peas, as well as rock legends Kiss.

Don't you wish you had those two hours back? Now you can see what I have to put up with on American TV. :x

I must admit I haven't watched this series either, although Lee has watched it each week.

Well it wasn't all misery Paul, and even though Lionel Ritchie couldn't lift my spirits, I just tucked into a box of Roses chocolates to help ease the pain.
We have more than our share of bad programmes on Britains TV too Paul. :)

Especially at weekend's Lena and Harry. There is just nothing worth watching on Saturday and Sunday nights, apart from perhaps BGT.

I caught up with American Idol today-I thought Adam was robbed !!!

I enjoyed the final show, but not sure why they had to make it so long--my favourite bits were Alison duetting with Cindy Lauper : Danny singing with Lionel Richie", and David Cook singing solo-a beautiful song.

It was so sad to read that his elder brother Adam had died of a brain tumour, just a few days previously.

On Teletext I read that this series had the least mumber of viewers than any of the other series-but it was still the most watched show on US TV.

Nearly 100 million votes for the final--that's a lot of voting going on !!
I suspect that maybe America does not have to pay expensive phone calls for this type of show, like we do----perhaps Paul will let us know?

The phone calls are toll-free 866 numbers. I had a hard time getting in, but I probably voted 9 times for Kris and once for Adam (to see if his lines were as busy as Kris). I don't think the vote was close at all -- I think Kris 60 per cent to 40 for Adam.

If you text your vote, standard text message rates apply.

Aren't the phone calls free for X Factor and BGT?
