I also like the Sammy Davis song It's Not Right For Me - I had never really listened to or been aware of his stuff before, mainly because of his association with the so-called Rat Pack, which I've always felt to be a rather tacky outfit, not least because of Frank Sinatra, who I am not keen on as a singer. However, I think Sammy Davis is a good vocalist (better, in my view, than Sinatra) and I intend to delve a bit more into his catalogue.

Robson and Jerome - Robson and Jerome
Robson and Jerome - Take Two

Although these guys were actors, I sure loved their albums!

Sammy Davis had a fantastic voice, good to see a new cd has been released based on the track currently being used on a tv ad, if you can find it on a cd look out for In The Shelter Of Your Arms, that was the first Sammy Davis record I ever bought.
I still find it sad that you can't appreciate Frank Sinatra's talent though!

Thanks for the tip, Karl. I'll look out for that Sammy Davis album.

I don't hate Sinatra (I own "Songs For Swinging Lover" and can enjoy the tracks now and again) but I just don't think he's as great a singer as he's made out to be. Give me Matt Monro and Johnny Mathis any day!

Jon I am not trying to get you to fully appreciate Frank Sinatra but is that the only album you've heard? There is so much more to Frank than that, his version of Neil DIamond's Dry Your Eyes is great and I also like a lot of his early Columbia material.
I'm a huge Neil Diamond fan but I think his Christmas albums are dreadful and my sister agreed with me, he just isn't suited to that type of music.

Gotta agree with you Karl. Neil's Christmas Album was one I disliked along with Luther Vandross and Mariah Carey's to name a few.

Been stuck in bed on doctor's orders so I've been listening to
The Monkees 50th Anniversary Original Album collection
The Dammed - First Album
The Best of Captain Sensible
Birtles and Goble - The Last Romance
Mud - Mudrock I and II
