Don Black on Radio 2
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Karl, if I remember Moira plays more a bluesy/jazzy style songs compared to Don who plays traditional crooner songs and music

"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"

Re: Don Black on Radio 2

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
I'm not happy with the tracks she plays I don't really listen to the show I only listened then because Matt's name was down in the Radio Times for the show,I look in the RT and if his name there I just catch it up on the i player.
He's going to be on this Sundays show but I'll catch up later just for his song Iv'e heard him three times on her show when Iv'e seen his name in RT don't know if she's played him any other time.

Moira played Matt's beautiful version of Georgia On My Mind and said what a singer and what a song, it was her very last track

"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Just checked and Don is back on December 11th

"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
At least Moira acknowledges Matt but it will be good to see Don and his music back

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
In his first programme of the present series Don played "matchless" Matt singing the awesome My Love and Devotion
............but Dons exaggerations continue saying Matt played to 60,000 fans at the Araneta Stadium when it was about 27,000 each night

"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Thanks Robert a wonderful song ---- don't mind a bit of exaggeration as long as he keeps playing Matts music

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Don played Matt singing the theme from the film Exodus tonight ..........a song whose lyrics were written surprisingly by Pat Boone

"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Don played " Matchless" Matts majestic Softly As I Leave You on his programme this week
...........he said the song was covered by Frank Sinatra and Elvis but Matts is the definitive version ............how true

"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Thanks Robert- forgot it was on will listen now

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Sandra it's so hectic around Christmas and New Year it's hard to remember which day of the week we are on

"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Don played a less well known Matt song tonight Nothing to Lose

"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On"
