Lena and Harry visited Leeds WAY before Charlie Chaplin was there, they travelled up in a coach and horses

Hi Diane, Thanks for all that information about the Leeds Variety Theatre
We can't remember who the main entertainer was that evening, but we know that Sheila Staeful was on the bill and Barry Cryer was the Chairman.
We remember thinking how unusual this theatre was, if we remember correctly the entrance was down a side alleyway and could have been passed by. We've got photo's that we took, but now we have a similar theatre in Kilburn, The Tricycle Theatre.
We used to enjoy those weekly Tv programmes from the Leeds Variety Theatre. We often used to see the show's Chairman Leonard Sachs and his wife Eleanor Summerfield shopping in Queensway.
Your Daughter who lived in Kilburn would probably see a big difference in the area now Diane in more ways than one. I Lena was born there( come on Robert here's your chance )
so have seen plenty of changes. We admit to having a fair knowledge of the Old Time Musical.
Thanks again Diane.

Hi Lena and Harry--of course--its "the Glory of Love"--I just did not recognise that verse--nor did I know that Bette Midler had sung it.
Well here is my new one-I have had it ready for some time---and you may well know it straight away--but it is such a nice one, I really wanted too use it.--here goes---
We might have been meant for each other
To be or not to be, let our hearts discover
I have a feeling, it's a feeling I'm concealing - I don't know why
It's just a mental, incidental, sentimental - alibi
But I adore you, so strong for you
Why go on stalling, I am falling, love is calling - why be shy
Marian

Hi Marian, this must be "Let's Fall In Love" Why Shouldn't We Fall In Love.
Part of The Refrain appeared In The Verse
Well Here's another .......
I Was Never Able To Recite A Fable
That Would Make The Party Bright.
Sitting At The Table I Was Never Able
To Become The Host's Delight.
But Now You've Given Me My After Dinner Story
I'll just describe you As You Are
In All Your Glory.
