JAMIE CULLUM

Post by mariana44 » Sun Oct 18, 2009 10:57 pm

Does anyone else like this new single from Jamie--"I'm all over it"--
it is by far my favourite Jamie Cullum track so far---but I cannot even get to download it till November !! How infuriating, when i keep hearing it on the radio.

I wasn't sure if I liked it and was kind of disappointed. Then Sarah Kennedy said she thought he had lost his stride with this song. Then after playing it many times, she started to like it. Guess what: it was in my head all weekend long and I can't wait to hear it again. It won't be my favourite Jamie song; that will always be Mind Trick, These Are The Days, and High and Dry. I've heard the new album starts with a Cole Porter song. I'm looking forward to the album; he is a brilliant pianist and singer.

I hope he returns to Washington, so I can see him in concert again. He is absolutely amazing in concert.

Marian -- Did you just download I'm All Over It, or buy the entire album? The track listing looks great. But it's not being released in the US until March 2nd; I think I'll wait for the US version. So I've ordered the 7 inch picture single, since I love that song so much.

Everyone: Please post your reviews.

Hi Paul-I downloaded 2 tracks---"I'm all over it"--and "Not while I'm around"--I did not really fancy any of the other tracks--although I may go back to Amazon and listen to some of the others.

I really do not think that can be right--maybe Alan said the biggest BRITISH selling jazz singer.

I think Mariana is right. He is certainly the best selling British jazz singer. Who else would come close? And he is without a doubt the best British jazz pianist I've ever heard.

Yes, god help us,...was he really singing. ?? as for British jazz pianists, we still have Kenny Clayton, and of course George Shearing or Roy Budd would have eaten him for breakfast :)
