Lena and Harry's clue -Perhaps it's "The Naughty Lady of Shady Lane"!!
 There's a shady lane mentioned anyway...Who sang that song?

Marian, The words with Shady Lane in was the song that Mariam guessed. "September in the Rain"

The current one... is recorded by many such as Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, The Platters. it's about a boat :)

Yes Marian, it is "Red Sails In The Sunset." this song always reminds us of a comedienne from the old Radio Days who portrayed an old lady, Our Ada !! and always finished her act singing this song so everyone visualised what she probably looked like.
Surprisingly she was a very pretty blonde girl. Her name Suzette Tarry. :) Anyone else remember? :P NOoooo !! ok then.

Marian, " The Naughty Lady From Shady Lane" we'll have to look for this song, sometimes it's like going on a Safari, can't say that we remember the Stargazers singing this one.

Hi Lena and Harry-I remember the name of Suzette Tarry--that is all.

But I believe that song was also sang by Tab Hunter--who was one of my sisters favourites--I have forgotten his big hit--was it called "Young Love"?

"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On" :(

Hi, well I have finally got round to finding a new verse-I do not think we have had it before-I have had a quick check--a pretty easy one-

I feel a sudden urge to sing the kind of ditty that invokes the Spring
So, control your desire to curse while I crucify the verse
This verse I've started seems to me the "Tin Pan-tithesis" of melody
So to spare you all the pain, I'll skip the darn thing and sing the refrain

Marian, you only mentioned "Young Love" in your Tab Hunter post. It's just a coincidence that he had a hit with "Red Sails In The Sunset" a song mentioned a bit earlier

Marian, a great Cole Porter song this one.
It's Delghtful, It's delicious, It's delovely.!!
Here's another one. Remember the clues are there.
There's a tear in your eye.
And I'm wondering why.
For It Never Should be there at all.
With Such power in your smile
Such a stone you'd beguile.
So there's never a teardrop should fall.

These lyrics should really tell you. Begorrah!!!

Lena and Harry, Can I have a go at this? I'm hopeless at these kind of things but think this might be "Mona Lisa"
