Here is a leading contender for my number 1 song of 2006:

Starlight by Muse

The same title was used for a different song recorded by the Supermen Lovers in 2001, which got to number 2 on the UK singles chart. And in 2006, still another Starlight was a B side for the Tweenies hit Number 1 which got to number 6 on the charts.

Are those enough numbers for you?!

Not quite as many springing to mind here - but how about 'Quiets nights and Quiet stars' by Doris Day. A very haunting song

Surprised that no one has mentioned 'Starman' by David Bowie esepcially you Marian44! - he'd like to come and meet us but he thinks he'd blow our mines
