Firstly , yes of course it is Ok, to reopen a new thread. As you have noticed, we have threads on just about anyone.
My sister used to be a massive David Cassidy fan, and the Partridge family--she still is. And the Monkees.
Her favourite groups are Westlife [big fan], plus Boyzone--and Ronan, and Gary Barlow. She is a good deal younger than me, and our tastes differ quite a lot

Maxine Ive seen Neil twice, in Birmingham and Manchester, the fist tiem was the best the atmospehre was amazing. I did not like the Manchester venue and felt it lacked atmosphere.
In Birmingham Neil was in the round and that was much better.

Re: DAVID CASSIDY NEW RELEASE
Oh yeah Maxine, the tastes here vary. Big Monkees fan here and Cassidy fan since I was 6 when the Partridge Family show started. But my all time 70's band was The Bay City Rollers. I wore the gear and all. Ha ha.
Mariana, did your sister get the solo cd of Shane Finlan? It's pretty good!!!

Re: DAVID CASSIDY NEW RELEASE
David Cassidy's autobiography 'Could it be Forever'
is one of the more honest and revealing of recent years.
Also the novel 'I Think I Love You' by Allison Pearson is a
knowing evocation of fan worship in
the innocent Seventies.
Both well-worth searching out on Amazon etc.

Re: DAVID CASSIDY NEW RELEASE
His half-brother Shaun handled life after bubblegum much better.
Maxine check out a collection called Jackie - Pin-Ups great stuff from the 70's from the people who put out the magazine.
Don, yeah I read those books and loved them. I could so relate to the fan worship as I was kinda similar with my BCR's. Hatching a plan to go to Edinburgh , cutting school to hang out in front of a tv studio with thousands of other fans hoping to see the Rollers, lol!!!

Re: DAVID CASSIDY NEW RELEASE
Eman--yes My sister Jill has the Shane Filan cd-{ I have only heard one song from it so far, which I really liked.} -plus the latest from Garry Barlow, and the new one from Boyzone.
Also the books that Don mentioned--I bught her the "I think I love you" one year, and funnily enough, his autobiography was a prize from one of the Matt Monro's get togethers--we had a quiz, and our table won, and we were allowed to pick from a selection of books, so I naturally rhought of Jill-although I think Michele also had her eye on it.

Re: DAVID CASSIDY NEW RELEASE
Mariana, thanks for the heads up on the new Gary Barlow and Boyzone cd's. Two of my faves. I wonder if McFly is ever gonna come up with anything new.
You may want to get your sister Jill the new "Jackie - Pin Ups" cd for Christmas. It's chockfull of 70's teen idol tunes. Oh I kept playing "Hold Me Close" by David Essex until my Dad threatened to pull the plug out of the stereo if I didn't play something else. Ha ha..
