Thank you for your wishes.
I went to Weatherby Whaler on my birthday for fish and chips.
I got some lovely presents and on Saturday had a party with my friends.
I got a high school musical carrier for my DS and ABBA singstar and Disney Singstar.
My little sister Cate got a Disney Belle cuddly.
when we went to Weatherby Whaler we both got a handbag (cate's got purple and I got a pink one).

Very difficult to find high quality fish and chips in the US. Everyone is health conscious here and they don't want to eat fried fish and french fries. So most fish is grilled -- good, but sometimes you just want fried haddock or cod.

Amanda here! Thank you for all your lovely wishes about Holly's birthday. She has had a great time.
The funny thing is I can remember being 7! I loved the soundtrack to Grease and played it over and over on my cassette recorder. We lived on a NATO base in Holland so I was brought up with American children who all loved Star Wars. As it was miles from the coast we would drive to Belgium and go to these huge outdoor lakes to swim. So what I was going to ask you all was what can you remember about being 7?
By the way Jeff we thought of you whilst we were tucking in!
Can't wait to see you again.
Did Gray tell you my brother has moved from the UK to California this week?

Disney Singstar is a playstation game which you watch whilst singing to and it records your voice , tells you who sang in tune etc. It is a bit like Karaoke but with the video playing behind. It's great fun. We have a High School Musical one, Abba and songs from Disney.

Hi Amanda-good to hear from you again--and gkad to see you are getting Holly trained early to use the Forum !

I have never heard of a "Singstar"-sounds amazing--however, I fear that if I sang into it, I might hit so many wrong notes it would break !!

I can remember being 7--we had just moved to a slightly bigger house--and even then I was interested in music--I would be in 7th heaven with all the stuff available now.

My passion was listening to the radio--and everytime I heard a new song, or a new singer, I would write it in my little notebook--one page for every letter of the alphabet. Even Sunday lunch time, listening to Family Favourites with the rest of the family, I would have my little note book by my side, and every so often would stop eating to scribble down another new title--then once a month maybe, I would buy a new notebook, and write everything down in alphabetical order-and start all over again. When I do it all on my Database now, I think back to all the hours I would spend, sorting out all my lists--now it can be done in a few seconds. Every time I use my database, I think of myself, copying out the same song titles over and over !

I also used to write down all the lyrics of the songs in a notebook-sometimes it would take 2 or 3 listens before I got all the words--and sometimes helped by "The Record Song Book" -came out every month, and had all the lyrics of the current hits of the day--cost 6d [old pennies--about 2.5 p today---a whole week's pocket money]

I would make my little sister, who was 3 years younger than me, so about 4 years old, come into my bedroom, where we would play at "Singing Songs" which would consist of me singing songs out of my notebook, and Carole listening !!!

I guess that is what you would call the beginnings of Karaoke---wow, How I would have loved a Karaoke machine.
