I've heard that about Max Bygraves Maxine.

The nice story about Dusty I mentioned earlier.

A late friend of mine came over from Cape Town for my 40th, he loved Dusty and his passion used to drive his wife mad. Anyway on his return flight from London it was delayed 24 hours due to a fault so he was put up in a hotel. His one ambiition was to meet Dusty, it never happened but read on.

He called Dusty's secretary (Pat) and explained what had happened. She said Dusty was in town so leave things with her to see what she could do - now the only people in the World who knew where he was was his wife, Pat and me.

Soon after his phone rang and a voice said Hello this is Dusty and she spoke to him for half an hour about everything under the sun. I tellya he did not need a plane to fly home after that, he was as high as a kite!!!

I then called Pat to ask her to call and thank Dusty for doing such a nice thing, how many stars would call an unknown person and talk to them?

When Cilla was on her anniversary show recently she said her back as killing her and she did seem belowo par that night.

Maxine do you mean Anyone Who Had A Heart? I don't like everything Cilla sings but in her defence she has made some great records and albums. I firste saw her when I was 16 and she just blew me away with the power in her voice.
Yes Karl that's the one 8) .....i just feel for me that was her best song and Alison Moyet said it was one of her desert island discs ....and when I heard it again I couldn't stop singing it ....i havnt seen her live so I cant say either way ...
I have an ambivalent attitude towards Cilla: I like her 60s stuff but can't be bothered listening to any recordings she made afterwards as she got too cabaret and light entertainment for my liking.
