Pleased to hear your news Maxine. It's sounding good, so hope your uncle continues the way he's going.

Thanks Maxine, we are going to go and see him this evening, hopefully the traffic around Manchester won't be too bad. No one else has been to see him yet so we thought a couple of familiar faces may cheer him up.

I'm sure you will cheer him up John, he'll be looking for some of your delicious meals that you usually take to him! Hope you find him better than expected, and hope he'll soon be home.

Thanks Maxine and Marian. We just got back about half an hour ago. He looked quite well and was quite cheerful and was chatting away. They are keeping him in a few days to see how he goes on and to assess him. They think he may have had a mini heart attack. It was quite upsetting when we came away because I think he thought we were going to take him home. He didn't want us to go. We told him we would go back at weekend, and hopefully he may have another couple of visitors between now and then.

Aww John it must have really boosted him to see you and I know what you mean about him getting upset ...when uncle first moved to Yorkshire from kent we went to visit whilst his son and family on holiday ...as we went to leave he broke down....it s so difficult for us all seeing them like that ....and we feel helpless ...they become almost childlike...it will really boost him again to see you all 8)

John what a shame your uncle thought you were taking him home - however let's hope that happens at the weekend.

Uncle Leon may be more comfortable in a nursing Home, and feel more secure. i know several friends who have vrecently had to move to nursing Homes, and although they did not like the idea of it, they are all very happy there now.

Thanks Maureen and Harry, and Maxine. I phoned the hospital tonight, the nurse said he is o.k. and been eating and drinking well and been pottering about. I asked if anyone else had been to see him, and she said no had been apart from us.
Thinking of you and your Uncle too Maxine and hope he will get settled in the nursing home once it is all sorted.
