Yes John--the version by Debbie Boone is probably the best known-although there have been other really nice recordings of it-including Matt, of course.

I could hardly hear her at the start.

To use one of the modern expressions that I do not really like--it was just the same old "same old".

From Today's Yahoo news..

Britney Spears has reportedly proven herself to be the biggest diva ever to appear on The X Factor after snubbing the contestants and refusing to meet Simon Cowell backstage.

The singer, who appeared on Saturday night's show, also turned down the dressing room provided and instead insisted on using Simon Cowell's private green room.

Britney's minders banned Simon Cowell from chatting to the star in her room ahead of the show and the judges were forced to grab a quick photo with her in the corridor, reports The Sun.

An X Factor insider told the paper: "You have never seen so many heavies. Even around the judges' dressing rooms were sealed off by Britney's security people. When the judges went to meet her, her security wouldn't let anyone past."

Britney also shocked the show's judges by not watching the contestants' performances. Previous guests including Take That and even famous diva Mariah Carey spent time mentoring the acts but Britney didn't even watch the show backstage.

When Dermot asked her what she thought of this year's final five she said: "Yes, awesome, thank you. I met so many people, the place is beautiful."

Britney has also been criticised by viewers after miming throughout the performance of her latest single - the judges gave her a standing ovation even though other acts who have appeared on the series have sung live.

I watched Britney's performance on X-Factor and thought it was simply awful.
On a show based on people's live performances, she really let herself down by miming.

This morning on BBC Breakfast time TV they showed Britney Spears bad miming performance on the XFactor. More publicity for her !!
We can never understand how and why she became famous in the first place.

Well, I used to wear a gym slip and navy blue knickers Robert but it didn't get me anywhere, I suppose it was because videos weren't invented then and the only audience we had was noses pressed against the school railings and whistles from the boys from the school near by, and then singing Greensleeves wouldn't have the same appeal as "Hit Me Baby One More Time.
