I realised my "duck pond" - "fish pond" mistake after logging off this afternoon  yes Marian, I did mean the duck pond, which I believe is near the pub you went in last time. So you had 20 J's did you Marian - I think that stands for Jack Daniels

Belated Happy Birthday from me too, Marian. Did you mention on here that you were into The Apprentice? Can't find a thread about it. What did you think of the result? Like most people, I wanted Christina (Kristina?) to win but had a hunch Simon would. Many people have commented that the surprise was spoilt in the previous week's trailer when they showed Sir Alan pointing to his right, where Simon was sitting, when saying "You're hired", and I thought exactly the same.

A friend told me that the so-called "boardroom" is in fact a TV studio and that Sir Alan's receptionist is actually an actress. Plus the shots of Sir Alan flying his helicopter over Canary Wharf and the City are misleading as his actual HQ is in less exciting Brentford in Essex. Two more series of the show have been commissioned. I tend to think of it as "Big Brother for Intelligent People", as it is in essence a reality TV show.

Hi Jon---thanks for my birthday wishes--it is beginning to seem like a long time ago now.

Yes I loved the Apprentice . I missed the first series, but I saw the previous one that Michelle won, plus 2 series of American Apprentice--one with Martha Stewart looking for an Apprentice, and one with Donald Trumo looking for an Apprentice. I thought the Martha Stewart one was easily the best---interesting tasks, and some great shots of New York between the action.

I have to say that this years final was an anticlimax after the previous week, with Katie pulling out so unexpectedly. But I certainly did not expect Simon to win--nor did I think he deserved to. I did not spot the "clue" of Alan Sugar saying "You're hired".

But Kristina may still do well--I have just watched a series on "SKY 1" called "Badger or Bust" where Ruth went around to small businesses in trouble, and tries to turn them around--it was very entertaining.

And also Sayed from last years series, had his own programme last night on Tv-but I have yet to see it.

I do not think it bears any comparison to "Big Brother", although I never watch it.

No it's really nothing at all like Big Brother. I watched quite a number of this year's programes and quite enjoyed it, but I think Christina was the winner by a mile. :?

Lee's first night.....The first night for Joseph star Lee Mead went down a storm on his debut
The BBC winner had the audience clapping along and dancing in the aisles at the sold-out first night at London's Adelphi Theatre The finale disco brought the house down. Well done Lee..

That sounds a great night--I shall try and look at the Papers reviews later.

But I spotted on Teletext that Craig--the blond Scot, from "Joseph". has landed a part in the touring production of Joseph-starting soon--so good luck to him too--another talented guy.

That's good to know that Craig has also landed a part, but more good news is that there is to be another series with Andrew Lloyd Webber to find an Eliza Dolittle for a new production of "My Fair Lady." So we shall be watching for that.

I have also just read about the search to find an "Eliza"---first time I had seen that mentioned, even though ALW mentioned Jesus Christ Supertsar and Evita.

I have also read that on "Living " TV [Sky], there will be a search for a male and female lead for "Dirty Dancing "

Oh--yes --and a big well done to Lee too--I was so sure that he was right for that part.

I was wondering how long it would take Robert to read the latest news on the next reality shows.

Sorry Robert--looks like they are here to stay--they are immensely popular .

I think I will fly every week-end to the UK to watch the My Fair Lady reality show. For me, it's the best musical score ever! I was so hoping they would do some Lerner & Lowe at the Broadway variety show I saw tonight, but nothing. They did do ALW; but rather than one of the biggies, a young lady sang the emotional Unexpected Song from Song And Dance -- a difficult song with a two octave range. She had some pitch problems unfortunately. But I give them credit for doing something other than Memory, All I Ask Of You, Music Of The Night, or Don't Cry For Me Argentina.

Did anyone see Zoe Tyler, and Lee this morning on Breakfast TV [Monday BBC 1]-I think they must have caught him at rehearsals singing "Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat" and "Close every Door"--he looked and sounded just fabulous.

If he is not a massive success when the show opens tomorrow night in London---then I'm a Frenchman

There were standing ovations for Lee last night in spite of discs on the revolving stage causing it to come to a standstill,  but as Bill Kenwright said, That's live theatre for you. Well done Lee.
