MATTHEW FORD AND HIS FAT CHOPS BIG BAND

Post by Sandra » Sun Apr 17, 2011 11:43 am

We went to see Matthew Ford at the Palace Theatre in Newark last night.
We try to see him whenever he is appearing in our area which unfortunately isn't too often.
Matthew is another much underated talent in this fair country of ours.
We are sure that if he lived in America his name would be up in lights as was his namesake.
He sang for many years with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra and also with John Wilson,Nick Ross,Len Phillips,The New Squadronaires,Memphis Belle and Pasadena Roof Orchestra and now tours with The Fat Chops Big Band who are excellent in their own right.
Matt sings all the great songs of Sinatra,Buble and of course our Matt :)
He sang a wonderful version of 'If I Never Sing Another Song' and is a huge fan of 'our Matt'.
We managed to catch him at the end and told him that the last time we saw Matt 'live' was at that very theatre in 1978 singing that very song as his latest release :)
A great great singer don't miss seeing him if you get a chance :D :D
