More Monro in Melbourne

Monrovians,
In what must be seen as another positive step for Melbourne, premier AM 'Adult Contemporary' station MAGIC 1278 will be playing a 'bit' more Matt shortly.
Station manager Gary Hoffman sent me the following e-mail recently in response to my gentle cajoling.

"G’day Greg,
Just catching up with your survey 72 post. You’re correct, it’s good to hear some different material once in a while. Most people listen to two or three stations and change the dial when they get a bit tired of one or the other. Perfectly normal.

For myself, I also get to program our digital station “The Buckle” which is a REALLY contemporary country music format, so I get to listen to all the new releases. Love it, and it’s a nice break from Magic, although I certainly enjoy a lot of the music we play.

By the way, our new Sunday night “Sinatra Lounge” show gives us the opportunity to slip in a couple more Matt Monro songs. What a pity!

Gary's last comment was tongue-in-cheek as we trade e-mails regularly , and is no doubt in response to my ascerbic observations of MAGIC's predilection for Rod Stewart and the station's pseudo-Country format. That's what freedom of speech is all about, folks.
